| Peter D. Clark (Partner) |
|
After graduation from the United States Merchant Marine
Academy, Peter D. Clark sailed seven years on U.S.
flag vessels, including tankers, and is a licensed
Chief Engineer. Mr. Clark graduated St. John's University
School of Law and holds a Master's Degree in international
law from New York University. He is admitted to the
courts of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, District
of Columbia, the United States Supreme Court, and
the United States Court of International Trade. Mr.
Clark's areas of specialty are shipbuilding contracts
and ship repair disputes, bulk oil transportation,
marine insurance, general average and salvage. He
also has litigation experience in major maritime
cases and charter party arbitrations. From 1989-1997
he authored the Sea Law column for the Journal of
Commerce. Mr. Clark is currently Chairman of the
Admiralty and Maritime Committee, Commercial and
Federal Litigation Section, New York State Bar Association.
He is Past President of the New York Kings Point
Alumni Association and President of the Propeller
Club of New York. Professional memberships include:
The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers,
The Society of Port Engineers and The Institute of
Marine Engineers. Mr. Clark also serves as a maritime
arbitrator.

| Frank A. Atcheson (Partner) |
|
Frank A. Atcheson, a U.S.
Merchant Marine Academy graduate, sailed as a deck
officer and later worked
in the insurance department of a major steamship
line. He was also a port captain and was responsible
for vessel and container operations. Mr. Atcheson
graduated from St. John's University School of Law
and is admitted to the courts in New York, New Jersey,
and the United States Court of International Trade.
He has represented shipowners and lenders in ship
finance transactions. His ship finance experience
includes: drafting loan and mortgage documentation;
forming vessel owning companies and preparing
corporate documentation in connection with vessel
acquisition and finance transactions; and registering
ships under U.S. and foreign flags. Mr. Atcheson
has advised vessel owners regarding regulations issued
by government agencies and negotiated fines and penalties.
He also has experience in cases involving bulk oil
transportation and refinery disputes, shipbuilding
disputes, general average, collisions, fires, marine
insurance and charter disputes. Mr. Atcheson is Chairman
of the Admiralty and Maritime Committee, Commercial
and Federal Litigation Section, New York
State Bar Association and a member of the Section's
Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Board
of Governors of the Propeller Club of New York.

| Richard J. Reisert (Partner) |
|
Richard J. Reisert graduated from the United States
Merchant Marine Academy and sailed as a deck officer.
Later, he was engaged as a marine surveyor and hull
adjuster on behalf of shipowners, cargo interests
and underwriters, and then served as claims manager
for a leading operator of refrigerated vessels. In
that capacity he was responsible for hull, cargo,
P & I and other claims involving the company's
large owned and chartered fleet, while also administering
its marine insurance programs. Mr. Reisert graduated
from Pace University School of Law and is admitted
to the state and federal courts in New York and the
United States Supreme Court. His areas of specialty
are casualty, towage and pilotage, pollution, salvage,
refrigerated cargo claims, charter party arbitration,
products liability and insurance coverage disputes.
He has represented foreign governments before commissions
investigating major maritime casualties, and has
substantial experience in transactional matters and
litigation involving refrigerated shipping. Mr. Reisert's
practice also includes drafting and negotiating shipbuilding
and repair contracts, charter parties, contracts
of affreightment and service contracts. He is a member
of the Maritime Law Association of the United States
(Committee on Marine Ecology), the Bar Association
of the City of New York (Admiralty Committee), and
the Association of Average Adjusters of the United
States, and has served as a maritime arbitrator.

| Stephen K. Carr (Of Counsel) |
|
Stephen Carr is a graduate
of the University of Toronto and the Georgetown Law
Center. Following law
school, Mr. Carr served in the U.S. Army Counter
Intelligence Corps., after which he joined the
maritime law firm of Haight Gardner Poor & Havens
(now Holland & Knight). For many years, Steve
was Chairman of the firm’s Litigation Section,
and was the firm’s foremost trial attorney,
specializing in the defense of maritime personal
injury claims, medical malpractice and products
liability actions. He has defended or prosecuted
hundreds of jury trial cases, and has argued
before the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Carr
is admitted to practice in New York and Pennsylvania,
and is also admitted to numerous federal district
courts and courts of appeal.
